Bed en Breakfast boerderij "de nieuwe Nes"

Our magnificent farm in "Jugendstil" is located on the "Sallandroute" near castle Nijenhuis between the villeges Wijhe and Heino at the adress Duisterendijk 2.It is situated close to extensive woods with lots of "Havezaten" (fortified farms) and castels. And on the other side is the IJsseldelta with a lot of nature like the" Duurse waarden". Earlier there where a lot of stonefactories along the river the IJssel. These factories have dug away a lot of riverclay forming the so-called clayholes, which now represent a beautiful nature area.

Near the farm is an old hay-stack.The "deel" (that part of the farm where the animals used to stand) is mainly still intact.You can still see where the cows used to stand.

Also the old horse-stable and the "Wippe" are still intact. The "Wippe" used to be the room for the servant and was placed right above the cows with between them only a wooden floor (16 inches above the cows).

Round about the farm you will find a magnificent laid out garden with a lot of snug corners. There is a seperately laid out rosegarden.

Breakfast will be served every morning in an authentic room. There is no breakfast buffet but every couple or party will be seated separately and can enjoy a very divers breakfast with a nice view.

In the B&B part you will find four double bedrooms and one room for four persons with cupboard-bed. In total there are four showers and toilets in the B&B-part.

including tourist tax and breakfast and use of towel
Additional charge for a single bedroom 5 euro

  Route:
Coming from Zwolle or Deventer follow the N337 as far as the junction "Herxen". Coming from Zwolle take a left here .Coming from Deventer take a right ( Bremmelerstraat). Follow this winding road for 3,5 km. up to the first intersection. Cross the intersection it is the first farm on your right hand side.

Do not take the Gravenweg otherwise you will end up in Zwolle again.

Surroundings:
Wijhe/Heino: Castle het Nijenhuis museum with paintings, garden with statues, and changing exhibitions. You are free to walk in the garden.

Zwolle (15 km): Prov.Ov.Museum and Ecodrome

Hattem: Anton Pieckmuseum and Bakkerijmuseum (bakery).

Raalte: Smederijmuseum (smithy) and kaasboerderij (cheesefarm).

Heino: Exhibition of stone-collections from all over the world. Restoration and exhibition of religious statues. Various signposted walk and cycle-routes.

In the nearby surroundings you can find the "Sallandse heuvelrug"(hill)and a rich flora and fauna. A excellent walk and cycle area is the Lemelerberg, the Holterberg and the Haarlerberg (hills). You can also take a very nice walk or cycling-tour in the IJsselvallei (valley)
